Consumer Rights Statement

Effective date: 1 August 2026  ·  Last updated: 6 August 2026
Policy Version 1.0  ·  Policy Owner: Book GCC Trip

This Consumer Rights Statement explains, in plain language, the rights you have as a consumer when you book accommodation through Book GCC Trip, both under our own published policies and under applicable UAE consumer protection law. It is a summary intended to help you understand and exercise those rights — it does not replace, and is not a substitute for, the specific policy that governs each topic (linked throughout and listed under Related Policies below).

Nothing in this Statement, or in any other Book GCC Trip policy, limits a right that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under UAE law. Where any wording elsewhere in our policies could be read as doing so, the mandatory legal right prevails.

1. Definitions

"Statutory Right":
a right you hold under applicable UAE consumer protection law or other mandatory law, independent of and not created by our own policies.
"Platform Policy":
a rule Book GCC Trip sets for how our own platform and service operate — for example, our non-refundable booking policy described in Section 3 — which applies in addition to, and does not replace, your Statutory Rights.

2. Right to Accurate Information Before You Book

You have the right to accurate hotel, rate, and pricing information before you complete a booking, including the full price you will pay and any taxes or fees included in it. Our Price Accuracy Policy explains how we keep displayed prices accurate and what happens if a genuine pricing or content error is found before your payment completes, and our Taxes & Fees Disclosure explains exactly which charges are included in the price you pay online and which, if any, are payable directly at the hotel.

3. Right to a Fair and Transparent Cancellation Policy Disclosed Before You Book

You have the right to know, before you pay, exactly what happens if you need to cancel. Book GCC Trip bookings are non-refundable as platform policy — this applies to every booking made through us, regardless of any cancellation window, "free cancellation" label, or refundable/flexible description that may otherwise be associated with a room rate. There are exactly two narrow exceptions, each reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis rather than automatic: Force Majeure (a government-declared natural disaster, war, pandemic-related travel ban, or legal mandate preventing travel, with supporting documentation) and Hotel Permanent Closure (the hotel permanently ceased operating after your booking was confirmed).

We consider clear, upfront disclosure of this policy — before you pay, not after — to be part of your consumer rights, not an exception to them. This policy is shown to you clearly during booking, and our full Cancellation & Refund Policy sets out both exceptions and how to request one in detail. We encourage you to consider independent travel insurance if you want cover beyond what these two exceptions provide.

4. Right to a Booking That Is Honoured, or Refunded if the Hotel Cannot

We work to confirm bookings only where the hotel has genuine availability, but on rare occasions a hotel may be unable to honour a confirmed booking — for example, due to overbooking or an unplanned closure. Where that happens through no fault of yours, you are entitled to a full refund of amounts already paid to us for that booking. This is treated as a hotel-initiated cancellation under our Cancellation & Refund Policy and is separate from, and not limited by, the general non-refundable policy in Section 3, which governs guest-initiated cancellations.

5. Right to Complain and Have It Addressed

You have the right to raise a complaint about any aspect of your booking, payment, or support experience, and to have it acknowledged, investigated, and answered within a reasonable timeframe. Our Complaint Handling Procedure sets out how to lodge a complaint, realistic acknowledgement and resolution timeframes, our internal escalation process, and your right to raise an unresolved matter with the competent UAE consumer protection authority afterward.

6. Right to Data Protection

You have rights over the personal data we hold about you, including rights to access, correct, delete, and object to certain processing of your data. See our Privacy Policy and Data Subject Rights Procedure for what data we collect, why, and how to exercise these rights.

7. Right to Accessible Service

You have the right to a booking experience we are actively working to make accessible, and to reach us for direct help if you hit a barrier using our website or app. See our Accessibility Statement for our current approach and how to request assistance.

8. Rights That Cannot Be Excluded

Nothing in these pages, our Terms and Conditions, or any other Book GCC Trip policy excludes or limits a right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under UAE law or other applicable mandatory consumer-protection law. Where any wording elsewhere in our policies could be read as attempting to do so, it is limited only to the extent the law permits, and no further. Our own Platform Policies — including the non-refundable booking policy in Section 3 — apply in addition to your Statutory Rights, never as a replacement for them.

9. How to Exercise These Rights

Most of these rights are exercised the same way: by contacting our support team with your booking reference and a description of what you need. See the contact details below, and the specific policy linked in each section above for the fuller procedure that applies to that right.
